Loved this so much, Liz - happy 2024 (now we're in Feb, though!). Just catching up on here and finding all the posts I've missed!! So good, SO much resonates, and I'm already looking forward to reading your next essay (and needless to say, adore the cat pic!! How happy do they look?!). 😻😻💗
Thanks so much for reading and for your kind words! I did just run to catch a train the other night (and made it with 2 minutes to spare--phew!) so I think I may have found a new way to trick myself into running :). Wishing you all the best in 2024!
Hi Kate! Happy New Year! Thanks so much for reading and I'm glad they made you laugh! I have every confidence you can achieve them. I'm excited to read about your mid-life gap year!
I love the notion of reducing toxic intake and imagine all of us could do with less toxicity. What a great newsletter, Liz. Happy new year to you ❤️ P.S. I love the kitty photo.
Such a great year-in-review and "goal setting" ;) for 2024! Wishing you and your family all the best! Curious how your book club decides on the book to read each month? I recently joined a local book club and I'm loving the experience (though I don't always finish the book by the time we meet, whoops). We are on a text chain and everyone just votes on the books people put forward.
Hi Kay! Thanks so much! You too! I'm so glad you're enjoying your book club. (A lot of us don't finish before the meetings either!) With this group, everyone offers suggestions and then we vote so we have a roster from November through May. Next up is Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting and, ironically, the epigraph is a quote from Murder on the Orient Express--worlds colliding! :)
Love this year wrap up and I am definitely adding “try new cheeses” to my New Year’s resolutions! And thanks for shouting out the writing challenge. Happy New Year!
Hi Kim! Happy New Year! Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to living vicariously through your travels and concert-going this year! Wish we lived closed : )
Love it, Liz! I also want to give all my energy to the positive things and kinda let the negative ones boil off to the side and disappear into the vapor. You know I am always so impressed with your hustle and how you put yourself out there, and I'd like to channel some of that good energy in the new year. So excited to read Sad Sacked after LOVING the audio version. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! xo
Aw, thank you, Amy!! And, likewise! I LOVE that you are flourishing in your career and I cannot wait to read your memoir! (I must admit I'm v. jealous of your Mini Cooper!) Happy new year! xo

Hi Jenni! Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words (I'll pass along your compliments to my cats!) Wishing you all the best in 2024! xx
Love the take on the new year! Beautiful pictures also! BTW, if you register for a 5k, I will, too. 😉 -Tom

Those are the best 3 resolutions I’ve seen all year!
