Hi! Happy Valentine's Day (& a Giveaway)
Scroll to the bottom for a glimpse of my favorite couple.
I’ve partnered with The Mystery Section for a giveaway of a signed hardcover copy of THE PERFECT NEIGHBORHOOD. For a chance to win, visit the blog where you’ll find plenty of interesting sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes looks at mystery novels and authors.
I hope 2023 is treating you well so far. It’s hard to believe it’s already mid-February. I’ve been busy making some revisions to my latest manuscript. (Fingers crossed I’ll have more to share with you about that in the coming months—or years, depending on how things shake out—ha!)
As always, I’m thankful to those who share my love of reading and writing. I was thrilled to chat with David Gwyn, writer and host of the Writerly Lifestyle podcast earlier this month. We talked about building backstory and how to go about finding an agent.
With spring (hopefully) right around the corner, I’m looking forward to venturing back out into the world (and praying my pants still fit after months of wearing sweats and snacking while writing, deleting and rewriting!) and meeting with fellow readers and writers.
I’ll be signing books at both of these events and chatting about how to craft a compelling query letter in Princeton. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you!
The thing that’s getting me through winter….
I’m honored to return to The Leopardi Writing Conference in Recanati, Italy this summer as a guest writer and editor. This conference has such a special place in my heart because it’s where I workshopped a very early draft of my YA novel, HE’LL BE WAITING. When I visited in 2018, I considered it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I can’t believe I get to go back.
If you’re looking for a conference where you’ll grow as a writer while surrounded by a gorgeous landscape, please join me!
To apply, visit: https://www.leopardiwc.org/
Deadline for full scholarship consideration: March 31, 2023
Rolling admissions and partial scholarship opportunities begin April 1, 2023.
If you have any questions about the experience, ask away!
Because it wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a bit of romance, here’s a rare moment of affection between Boots & Bubbles, my beloved cats who keep me company while I write.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!
