Ha! I love that idea! Thank you! I'm sure I'll have lots of photos! (Hopefully, they won't feature the goats covering their ears while I beg them for advice 🐐🤣.)
I loved Claire Casey! It was the perfect summer read. I voted Rom com but I am also kind of a baby about reading thrillers so you probably shouldn’t put too much weight on my vote. But definitely write the one that is calling to you the most :)
Hi Julie! Thank you so much, that makes my weekend! Thank you again for reading it and spreading the word! Yes, I think that’s probably the right decision, but after putting this in writing, all my momentum evaporated, lol, isn’t that always the way?🤪
Hi Liz! My summer reading goal is to get through some books on my kindle and read new ones via Libby as they become available. I’m currently reading Wild Dark Shore.
I think you had it exactly right here, Liz: "I think it’s important to be true to yourself and pursue that project that’s calling to you and won’t let you go.” So I feel like maybe that’s my answer?
But I also know how hard that is to apply. I am trying to decide between projects right now, as well. My feelings are all over the place!
OH, I'm excited to see which you choose! I was mentioning my dilemma to a friend and she said just be grateful to have ideas at all and I suppose that's a great point 🤣 I can't wait to read What Boys Learn!
The goat-filled writing residency sounds AMAZING, Liz. I’m so jealous! And thank you for the shout-out—I’m so grateful to you for being the first PBP interviewee!
I'm ready for more, Liz -- keep the books coming and if you do end up also taking up piano or pickleball - you'll need to share tips w/ the rest of us!!
I just finished Claire Casey and loved it! It resonated deeply with me as a mom whose teenage daughter often snarks “you’re like a single mother” despite being married to her father. I intend to leave you a glowing review! I see your quandary here though and wish I could be more helpful. I also think a good friend of mine will be at that same residency, so I will tell her to introduce herself to you!
Hi Lindsey! Thank you so much! You've made my day! Your daughter sounds hilarious (and insightful! 😜) Thank you for reviewing it! I really appreciate it! Oh what a fun coincidence about your friend! I'm counting down the days (& hoping when I meet these goats in person they'll have any advice 🤣).
Of course! Will write today! And my daughter is a hoot. Most of the time. 😉 I misspoke about my friend! She’s going to a different writing/chateau in May. Ce la vie!
OH so close! I'd love to hear about her experience when she returns! I'm thinking of doing daily word count updates from this one to hold myself accountable - so you may want to block me now 🤣 Thanks again!
Lol! I will let you know what she says! I wanted to go, but it’s the same time as my anniversary. I tried to spin it as a gift from my husband, but he wasn’t biting.
I'd love a rom-com with a middle-aged protagonist so I can live through her!
Thanks for reading, Vicki! I think that's where my heart is! Hope your writing is going well and you're having a great summer!
Revenge pickleball story, obviously! And enjoy your goats/writing!

I know! So tough to figure out sometimes.

Hi Natalie! Oh I keep hearing such great things about Wild Dark Shore! I hope to listen to it soon!!
I voted romcom bc i love a middle-aged protag, but really, your own advice is the best advice! xo
Thanks for reading, Erin! Hope you're having a great summer and hope to catch up again soon! xo

Thanks so much for reading this, Mary, and for having me!! I am excited to see these goats in person! There are swans too! 🦢 🦢🤣

I love that you tried! I hope you can catch the next one! It's the perfect excuse to travel somewhere new!
And consult with sage goats!
Exactly!
